This is a pick up tube for your kettle. The 1/2 in. mpt end screws into the back of a bulkhead in a kettle and the tube is attached to the end of the 1/2 in nipple. The tube is bent and is directed over to the side of a kettle so that the ball valve when opened drains the wort from the side of the kettle away from the center where all the solids settle after a whirlpool. This helps minimize the amount of solids transferred into the fermenter.
